Our Philosophy

Hi! I’m April.

As a teacher, mother and a non-native English speaker, I understand the struggles of learning a second language and how helpful it can be for someone to guide you in the experience. My teaching philosophy is simple; direct and utilize creative solutions based on a student’s learning style. My goal is to help my students identify and understand any weaknesses, and improve their Chinese competencies by the practice of speaking, listening, reading and writing through engaging activities.

With a background in Chinese language education and a Master degree in Taiwan Literature, I have dedicated myself to this profession since 2013. I have worked with over 300+ students from preschool age to adults, from individual to Google, in West Los Angeles area and the Bay area. I worked in Mandarin Immersion Program classrooms in public school system for two years. I was the world language teacher teaching Mandarin Chinese at Fusion Academy Miracle Mile, a private middle and high school near Beverly Hills, for four years.

I believe a good language teacher holds your hand through your proficiency of a language and ignites a passion to learn and improve. As the director and senior Mandarin teacher, I want each of my students to appreciate every moment in their path of learning and Enjoy Chinese!
